Welcome!
Hi! I'm Ella Zaputil, a fourth year student at the University of Iowa, majoring in Business Analytics & Information Systems and pursuing an Event Management Certificate. I will be graduating in December 2025 and am actively searching for full-time roles in the Des Moines or Iowa City areas. Through my previous experiences, I've found a passion for event coordination, digital marketing, and data-driven storytelling. As I continue growing, I'm excited to explore opportunities that merge business insights and creative problem solving.
Outside of school & work, I spend most of my time with family and friends, watching new TV shows, going on walks, golfing, or trying new places to eat. Many of my weekends are spent watching sports, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Pittsburgh Steelers, and St. Louis Cardinals! I'm also a big fan of podcasts and audiobooks.

Recent Work
Civco Chargeback Validation System
I worked with CIVCO to analyze chargeback data using Excel and Power BI, focusing on identifying discrepancies between distributor submissions and internal records. By organizing and visualizing historical data, I highlighted patterns in inconsistencies and areas where the reconciliation process could be improved. The project resulted in clearer reporting, better data accuracy, and more efficient workflows for future chargeback management.
Digital Product Management Professional Portfolio
This digital product management project highlights my ability to design, prototype, and evaluate a user-centered digital experience. Using HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript, I created an interactive product prototype that demonstrates clear navigation, responsive layout, and thoughtful accessibility decisions. Throughout the project, I applied key product management skills such as user research, wireframing, feature prioritization, and iteration based on feedback. I also gained hands-on experience translating product requirements into functional design elements, ensuring the final prototype aligned with user needs and business goals. This project strengthened my understanding of how technical development and strategic product thinking work together to bring a digital product to life.
ZERO Connect Marketing Internship
During my marketing internship at Zero Connect, I supported a wide range of branding, communications, and project management initiatives. I led the Marketing Materials Update, redesigning brochures, product sheets, and internal documents to ensure brand consistency across all customer touchpoints. I also helped plan and promote the Zero Connect Cares Golf Tournament, managed the company’s social media content calendar, and created posts for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. In addition, I contributed to market research, assisted with email campaign development, and worked on projects such as redesigning business cards, “Courtesy Of” stickers, and company window coverings. This internship strengthened my skills in content creation, project coordination, design consistency, and cross-team communication.
